Apple revealed...

Tomorrow something will happen... something people were waiting for a long time... something they tried to imagine or get an early look at, but couldn't quite. Mr. iCEO, savior of gadget design, Steve Jobs will rock the world.

There are many rumors and predictions floating around in the web, but only few know what El-Stevo is about to show the world. Here's my preview/prediction about what's going to happen...

The keynote will start as usual - "Hi! Thank you everybody for coming and sharing this great moment with me! I have some great things to show you, so lets jump right into it."

He'll start off by reviewing Apple's progress, showing how much units (ipod, iphone, imacs, macs,...) they have sold over the past 12 months and what their respective current market share is. Then he'll go back to the slide that shows a matrix with all the current product areas Apple. He'll say how proud he's about all the Apple products and their performance and inform everyone that he's about to add another product to this matrix. With a click that matrix enlarges and new (empty) fields come up.
Steve will explain how excited he is to finally unleash this new product on which he and Apple have worked for years have worked so hard.
*** blah blah ***
"Let me introduce the [Apple tablet]" - Shows slide with picture of tablet, shows next slide with top/bottom/left/right view and all the buttons and I/Os. Compares new device to existing e-readers and known tablets/slates.

Crowd is ecstatic. Steve shows more slides with tech-specs. Asks crowd if they would like to see one right now. Walks back, lifts black cloth from table and brings it up front. Poses with the device, showing all angles & especially how thin it is, just smiling into the crowd (and all the cameras).

The tablet's OS & features are next...
  • Mac OSX/iPhone OS hybrid
  • redesigned iTunes store
  • e-book software
  • Apps developed by 3rd parties presented (games, tools, etc.)

"That's it! --- Oh! There's one more thing! It's time to come out with the truth --- I am not human! No, I am not Jesus, even tough I also can walk on water if I want to.

A little more than 50 years ago I stranded with my spaceship on the moon. Fortunately in 1969 Neil and Buzz stopped by and picked me up and brought me down here to Earth. Needlessly to say, my race is superior than yours. Let me tell you, being able to control humans minds was really helpful to keep below the radar.
Btw - In case you wonder, I pitched the guys who wrote Perry Rhodan some ideas. I was lonely up there, but fortunately I had a transmitter that I could use to send 'over' some drafts. The publisher liked the story and I made some petty cash which I then used in the 70s, down on earth, to develop new machinery. I had all those blueprints stored in my memory, but the technology I needed had to be developed step by step. Woz really helped me, but to clear things up - he's not alien... he might look and sometimes think like one, but he isn't.

The reason I am coming forward today and reveal my real identity is that I've succeeded. Finally, after all those years of development, we've built a new spaceship that will bring me back to my home planet, Arkon. Do you want to see the ship?"

The crowd thinks Steve has gone completely crazy... but it's Steve?! And him being an alien would certainly explain some things.

The back wall of the stage starts to move and opens up a view into the backyard. At the same time a big whole in the floor opens. Then slowly something HUGE elevates out of the whole. After a minute the ship stands in its full size out in the yard. There was no one in the crowd that makes a noise. People are still trying to process what happened over the last few minutes.
The crowd looks at a 150 feet tall, silver shiny object. People don't realize it right away, but this spaceship looks like a giant apple... a 150 feet tall apple!

Steve brakes the silence...

"I know this is all a little much at once, but there was no better way to do it, and by now you should know my 'one-more-thing' moments. So lets move on - I call this spacecraft 'Apple Explorer' and today will be its maiden flight. I plan a quick trip to the moon and back, after that I'll be available for questions, in case you have any.

In the meantime, please feel free to take a look at the other new products in our showroom. I am sure you'll love the new tablet!"

Steve uses a lift to get into the Apple Explorer and shoots away into the sky.

----

There you have it! That's my prediction what's going to happen tomorrow. If you don't believe me, just wait... and I'll say after the keynote "See, told you so!".

=====

But let's get back to what happened over the last few days in my life, if you are still able to handle it... ;-)

  • Booklet 'X - Statistics & Problem Solving' of Veritas Preps GMAT course is done. Right now I am working through 'XI - Sentence Correction 2'. I also scheduled my official test - it's going down on 2/19.

  • I also looked at some admissions consultants and think I am down to two. I'll make my final decision in the next days and start working on applications more intensely.

Alright... that's it
